This guide provides detailed instructions for upgrading a Chromebox from the Comeen Chrome App to the Progressive Web App (PWA) using the Google Admin Console. This upgrade ensures improved performance and functionality for your digital signage needs.
We recommend that you switch to the PWA app as the Chrome App will not be supported anymore in the future. You can choose to remain on it, there won't be a service interruption. However, you might run into hardware issues we won't be able to fix.
ℹ️ Important Notice: After upgrading your kiosk mode configuration, your devices will automatically reboot. Rest assured, all settings and configurations made on Comeen will remain unchanged following the upgrade.

Setting Up Chromebox on Google Admin Console with an LTS Target Version and Automatic Updates
To ensure stability while benefiting from security updates, it is recommended that your Chromebox devices be configured with a Long-Term Support (LTS) target version while still allowing updates. This setup helps maintain compatibility with your environment while preventing unexpected changes due to automatic major version upgrades.
1. Sign in to Google Admin Console using your administrator credentials.
2. Navigate to Devices > Chrome > Settings.
3. Locate and select the Organizational Unit (OU) containing the Chromebox devices you want to configure.
4. In the "Device settings" tab, scroll down to the "Device update settings" section.
5. Click on "Auto-update settings".
6. Find "Target version" and select the version "Long-term support" (LTS) to ensure your Chromebox stays on stable, supported versions.
7. Find "Allow devices to automatically update OS version" and select "Auto-update", allowing Chromebox to receive critical security and bug fixes.
8. Click "Save" to apply your settings.
The configured Chromebox devices will now follow the LTS version policy while allowing necessary updates.
