2. Application Permissions Details

Below are the scopes required by our application and their purposes:

  • chat:write
Allows sending messages as Comeen Workplace.
Our app sends notifications to users, so we need this scope to send messages as @comeen.

  • im:history
Provides access to view messages and other content in direct messages where Comeen Workplace is added.
We need to check the message history to update message cards previously sent to users, if necessary.

  • im:read
Enables viewing basic information about direct messages where Comeen Workplace is added.
This scope helps us identify users who have messaged our bot.

  • im:write
Allows starting direct message conversations with users.
Our app initiates direct message conversations to notify users.

  • users:read
Grants access to view the list of people in a workspace.
Users can add teammates from their Slack workspace to Comeen. This scope is needed to link Slack users to the Comeen teammates list.

  • users:read.email
Provides access to users' email addresses in a workspace.
We use the email addresses to link Slack users to corresponding accounts on our platform.
