Test Network requirements directly on your hardware

Introduction

This function allows you to check that all the network prerequisites necessary for Comeen to function are met, without the need for complex manual checks.

What does it do?

  • Checks connectivity to the required servers, services, and APIs.

  • Simplifies and speeds up diagnostics during initial setup or technical support.

Requirements

  • Active network connection (Ethernet or Wi-Fi).

  • For Option 1: Access to the space's administration platform or remote access to the player.

  • For Option 2: A keyboard and mouse.

⚠️ Warning: This action temporarily alters the display of the screen. A debug panel will appear on half of the screen (screenshot below)

Option 1: Perform a Network Test Remotely

Step 1: Open the Debug Panel on the "Network" Tab

1. From the Comeen administration platform, go to the list of spaces.

2. Click on the space associated with the relevant device.

3. Select the "Displays" tab:

4. To the right of the display to be diagnosed, click on the debug button (to the left of the “Modify” button):

5. Click on “Network tab”:

The debugging panel will automatically open on the screen, and the network requirements test will run without any further action.

Step 2: Take a screenshot

1. To see the result of this test, click on the name of your display:

2. Click on "New screenshot":

3. Click on the generated image:

4. Download the image to open it in full screen.

In this screenshot, you will see the list of required hosts.
A label will appear next to each host:

  • Valid: The host is accessible.

  • Error: The host is unreachable or blocked.

Option 2: Perform a Network Test Directly on the Device

Step 1: Open the Debug Panel on the "Network" Tab

1. Turn on the player, if it’s not already powered on.

2. Connect a keyboard and mouse to the player/screen.

Depending on the platform or screen brand, use the appropriate key combination to open the debug panel:

  • Windows, ChromeOS, Android, Linux: Press the F3 key

  • Samsung, LG, iiyama: Use the Ctrl + F3 key combination

4. The debug panel will open automatically. Navigate to the "Network" tab using the arrow keys or mouse. The network test will start automatically.

5. Once the test is complete, a label will be displayed next to each tested host:

  • Valid: The host is accessible

  • Error: The host is unreachable or blocked
