Setting Up a Visitor Kiosk on a Neat Frame

This guide walks you through deploying Comeen on a Neat Frame using Neat Pulse's Custom Web Apps feature. Once configured, the Frame runs the Comeen kiosk in App Hub mode, locked down for end users.

Prerequisites

  • A Neat Pulse Plus or Pro plan - Custom Web Apps are not available on the free Starter plan.

  • Admin access to your Neat Pulse account.

  • A Comeen workspace with at least one kiosk configured.

  • A Neat Frame, either new or ready to be factory reset.

Step 1 - Get your Comeen kiosk URL

  1. In your Comeen workspace, go to Buildings > Select your building > Kiosk > Select your kiosk in the list

  2. Copy the full kiosk URL. It should look like: https://kiosk.comeen.io/?key=XXXXXXXX

⚠️ The key parameter is unique to your kiosk. Do not share it publicly.

Step 2 - Add Comeen as a Custom Web App in Neat Pulse

  1. Sign in to Neat Pulse.

  2. In the left menu, click Neat Open.

  3. Scroll to the Neat Open section and click Add app (or +).

  4. Fill in the fields:

    • Web app URL: paste your Comeen kiosk URL from Step 1.

    • App name: Comeen Kiosk (or any label you prefer).

    • Compatible devices: select Neat Frame (and any other device types you plan to deploy on).

  5. Click Save.

The app now appears in your Apps list.

Step 3 - Enroll the Neat Frame in App Hub mode

If your Frame is already running Zoom Rooms or Microsoft Teams, you must factory reset it first - the platform choice can only be made during initial setup.

  1. Factory reset the Neat Frame (Settings → Device → Factory reset, or hold the power button as per Neat's reset procedure).

  2. Follow the configuration wizard: language, network

  3. Using the Pulse enrollment code, enroll the device on Pulse.

⚠️ Do not select Zoom Rooms or Microsoft Teams at this stage. You will first need to follow the next step to enable the Comeen Kiosk custom app on your device.

Step 4 - Enable the app for your device

In Neat Pulse, open your device from the Devices list, locate the Comeen Kiosk app, and toggle it ON for the device(s) you want it to be available on.

Back on your Neat Frame (you may need to restart it if you cannot see the Comeen app after following the next steps)

  1. At the Choose platform screen, select Other - not Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  2. The Frame will then display the list of apps enabled for it in Pulse. Select Comeen Kiosk.

  3. The Frame launches Comeen and is ready to use.

Troubleshooting

  • Comeen Kiosk doesn't appear at the platform selection screen on the Frame

The platform selection screen only shows Zoom, Teams, and Other. Custom web apps appear in the next screen after you select Other.

  • Comeen Kiosk doesn't appear after selecting "Other"

Check that the app is toggled ON for that specific device in Neat Open → Devices.

  • The "Apps" section is missing in Neat Open

Your Pulse plan likely does not include Custom Web Apps. Upgrade to Pulse Plus or Pro, or contact Neat support

  • The Frame is already running Zoom or Teams and I can't change the app

A factory reset is required to switch platform modes.
