How to use Waze content

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Here's a detailed guide on how to use Waze content in a playlist, explaining the process of adding content and highlighting the differences between geolocated and fixed addresses.

Step 1: Navigate to Your Playlist

  • Open Comeen and go to the Playlists tab.

  • Click on the playlist where you want to add Waze content or create a new playlist if necessary.

Step 2: Add Waze Content

  • Click on the "Add Content" button.

  • From the list of content options, select "Waze" to include live traffic and road condition updates.

  • Fill in the Content name and display time

  • Then choose :
    - The player geolocation will be used to display traffic around your screens

    or

    - Type the address of the desired location

Configuring Location Settings

When adding Waze content, you have two primary options for setting the location: using the player's geolocation or typing a fixed address.

  • Geolocated Addresses:

This option uses the current location of your device.

If your player is geolocated, Waze will automatically display relevant traffic information and directions based on the device's location.

This is especially useful when the screens assigned to a playlist are located across different sites - the content will then automatically adapt based on the location of each screen.

⚠️ Important

Make sure the device’s location is correctly configured on its display page.

If not, the content will not be displayed.

  • Fixed Addresses:

With this option, you manually set a specific address for the Waze widget.

This is useful if you want to show traffic information for a particular area, regardless of the device’s actual location.

Conclusion

Using Waze content in your playlists can significantly enhance the utility of your displays by providing real-time traffic updates and directions.

The choice between geolocated and fixed addresses depends on your specific needs and the context in which your displays are used.
