Understanding Workflow Override Priorities: User group, Room, Building, and Space

Updated over 4 months ago

In managing office environments, understanding the priority of workflow overrides is crucial for seamless operations. This guide will clarify which overrides take precedence among user groups, rooms, buildings and space.

Priority and Application

  • User Group-Level Priority: User group settings override all others, ensuring group-specific preferences are met first.

  • Room-Level Priority: Room-specific settings take precedence over building and space-level rules, addressing room-specific needs.

  • Building-Level Priority: These settings apply broad organizational policies and take precedence over space-level overrides.

  • Space-Level Priority: The lowest in priority, these settings allow for management of the whole space.

Handling Multiple Group Memberships

When a user belongs to multiple user groups, the most accommodating rule is applied. An example of this principle is the default setting for notifications. If one group does not have notifications enabled (which is considered less restrictive), and another group does have them enabled (more restrictive), the user will follow the default rule of not receiving notifications.
