This guide will help you set up Comeen on a Crestron TSS-880 room scheduling panel, using the tablet's setup wizard and a laptop for configuration through the device's web interface.
Prerequisites
The Crestron TSS-880 requires a single Ethernet cable (PoE) for both power and data connection.
Once the Ethernet cable is connected, the tablet will automatically power on.
The Crestron needs to be connected to the same network as the laptop you will use for the setup.
The tablet should be running the latest Crestron firmware, so that Crestron General Web is available as a provider.
ℹ️ Information: On first boot (or after a factory reset), the TSS-880 opens a built-in setup wizard. The first boot may take up to two minutes.
Step 1: Complete the Setup Wizard on the Tablet
The TSS-880 guides you through a short setup wizard directly on the screen. This is where you select the provider that will run Comeen.
Select the language
On the Hello! screen, select your language (for example, English (United States)).
Tap Continue.
Select the provider
On the Select provider screen, select Crestron General Web.
Tap Next and follow the remaining on-screen instructions (admin account, network) until the wizard is complete.
⚠️ Important: Do not select Crestron Scheduling or Microsoft Teams. Comeen runs on the TSS-880 through the Crestron General Web provider only.
Step 2: Access the Tablet Interface via Laptop
Find the touch screen IP address
Ensure the touch screen is connected to the network.
To open the setup screens, place five fingers on the display and hold for 15 seconds until the main Setup screen appears. The Setup screen shows the IP address of the tablet.
Access the interface via browser
Enter the touch screen IP address into a web browser on your laptop to access the web configuration interface.
Log in with your admin account.
On the Status tab, you can confirm the model (TSS-880) and the firmware version.
ℹ️ Information: You can also set up XiO Cloud and XiO Cloud Premium for enhanced management and control options.
Step 3: Configure Tablet Settings via Laptop
Set the time zone
Go to the Settings tab, then open System Setup.
Ensure the date and time settings are correct to avoid any synchronization issues.
Set up an NTP Time Server
Under the same section, add an NTP Time server. You can use a private NTP or a public one, such as time.google.com, for example.
Review other settings
Go through the remaining settings in the interface to ensure everything is configured according to your requirements.
Select Save Changes from the Action menu.
Step 4: Install the Comeen Application
Access the Applications section
In the same Settings tab, find and open the Applications section.
Check that Application Mode shows Crestron General Web. If it doesn't, change the mode and refresh the page so the Crestron General Web section appears.
We recommend leaving Application Auto Update turned on.
Enter the Comeen URL
In the Crestron General Web section, enter the following URL in the URL field: https://display.dynamicscreen.xyz/golem/?model=crestron-tss
Select Save Changes from the Action menu.
Run the Comeen App
The Comeen application loads automatically on the tablet. If it doesn't, restart the tablet.
Verify that it launches and operates as expected. You should see a pairing screen like this one:
ℹ️ Information: The pairing screen shows two codes, one for EU and one for US. Use the code that matches the region of your Comeen account. Pin codes expire after one hour; if yours has expired, a new one will be displayed.
Step 5: Associate Crestron with your Comeen Account
Log in to Comeen
On a computer or mobile device, log in to your Comeen interface at https://login.new.play.comeen.com
Navigate to Displays
Go to the Displays section and click on Associate a player.
Enter the Code
Enter the code displayed on the Crestron tablet screen and fill in the device information to associate it with your Comeen account.
Finalize Setup
Confirm the association to complete the setup. You are now ready to deploy your meeting room signage.
Once set up, your TSS-880 displays the room's live availability next to your meeting room:
ℹ️ Information: For more detailed information on the Crestron tablet, see Crestron's TSS-880 documentation.
By following these steps, your Crestron TSS-880 should be successfully set up with Comeen.
