Some dashboards do not send you straight to the sign-in page of your passport. A Looker Studio report, for example, always opens a Google sign-in page first, even when your company accounts are managed in Okta or Microsoft Entra ID. Google then redirects to your company identity provider.
To display this kind of dashboard, Comeen Play needs to know which sign-in page the dashboard shows first. This is the External sign-in entry of the dashboard. You set it on each dashboard, and you can set a Default SSO entry on the passport so that its dashboards start from it.
How it works
Comeen Play signs in to the dashboard with the passport. When the dashboard sign-in page offers several ways to sign in, it selects the entry you chose, then continues with the identity provider of the passport.
None (direct sign-in). The dashboard goes straight to the sign-in page of the passport. Exception: a Looker Studio dashboard always goes through Google first.
Google. The dashboard shows a Google sign-in page first, which then redirects to the identity provider of the passport.
Microsoft. The dashboard shows a Microsoft sign-in page first, which then redirects to the identity provider of the passport.
ℹ️ The list never offers the identity provider of the passport itself: on a Google passport, Google is not offered, and on a Microsoft passport, Microsoft is not offered. In that case, leave the field on None (direct sign-in).
The setting is available on Google, Microsoft, Okta and OneLogin passports. It is not available on passports that sign in with a login link and form.
Examples
Dashboard | Passport | External sign-in entry |
Looker Studio report | None (direct sign-in)
Looker Studio report, Google Workspace connected to Microsoft Entra ID | Microsoft
Looker Studio report, Google Workspace connected to Okta | Okta
Internal tool protected by Okta | Okta | None (direct sign-in) |
Tool whose sign-in page opens on Microsoft, Microsoft Entra ID connected to Google | Microsoft |
💡 Tip: to know which entry to choose, open the dashboard in a private browser window and look at the first sign-in page that appears.
Set the sign-in entry of a dashboard
In Comeen Play, go to Dashboards and open your dashboard.
Select your passport.
In External sign-in entry, select None (direct sign-in), Google or Microsoft.
Click "Load dashboard" to check the preview, then click "Save".
When you select a passport, the field takes the default entry of that passport. You can still choose another one for this dashboard.
Set a default entry on a passport
If most dashboards of a passport go through the same page, set it once on the passport.
Go to Integrations > Passports, then open your passport or add a new one.
Under Advanced settings, click "Show".
In Default SSO entry, select None (direct sign-in), Google or Microsoft.
Click "Save Passport".
The Advanced settings section opens on its own when one of its values is already filled.
Good to know
The default only pre-fills. Changing the default entry of a passport does not change the dashboards that already use it. It only applies when you select this passport on a dashboard.
Changing the passport of a dashboard. The field takes the default of the new passport, unless you had chosen another entry yourself.
Login and password passports. If you switch a dashboard to a passport that signs in with a login link and form, its sign-in entry is cleared.
No reconnection. Changing the default entry of a passport does not reconnect it.
"Automatic" is now "None (direct sign-in)". A dashboard that was left on the former Automatic option now shows None (direct sign-in).

FAQ
Do I need to set an entry for a Looker Studio report with a Google passport?
No. Leave the field on None (direct sign-in).
Why is Google not in the list?
Your dashboard uses a Google passport: Comeen Play is already on Google, so this entry is not needed. The same goes for Microsoft on a Microsoft passport.
I changed the default entry of my passport, but my dashboards did not change. Is this normal?
Yes. The default only pre-fills the field when you select the passport on a dashboard. Open each existing dashboard to change its entry.
My dashboard was on "Automatic". What should I do?
It now shows None (direct sign-in). If the dashboard opens a Google or Microsoft sign-in page first, select that entry and save.
Why don't I see the field on my dashboard?
The selected passport signs in with a login link and form. The sign-in entry only applies to Google, Microsoft, Okta and OneLogin passports.
